At the end of 2018, SAP announced its acquisition of Qualtrics (). The amount of the deal was about $8 billion. SAP provides businesses with enterprise software and cloud services. SAP claims that its software is involved in more than 75% of the world’s transactions. Qualtrics offers a platform which allows for conducting external and internal surveys, measuring customer experience, employee expectations and brand adv...ocacy. According to a statement of Robert Enslin, president of the Cloud Business Group and a member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, Qualtrics has pioneered an entirely new category: experience management (XM). He said that the Qualtrics XM platform helps businesses to define what is happening in the moment with any mission-critical audience. He added that when business has experience data on its product taken from multiple channels, it can begin to connect the customer sentiment to the reason behind any action (returns, for example), to detect patterns. And these real-time patterns can lead to immediate changes in production, manufacturing and engineering processes. Speed is a key factor, and the XM platform provides real-time aggregation feedback from any engagement method. Together, SAP and Qualtrics will deliver the only end-to-end experience and operational management system.
