Facebook developer conference

Facebook’s tenth Developer Conference (F8) was held on 30 April–1 May 2019. Facebook’s family of apps includes Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote focused on building a more privacy-focused platform which gives people spaces where they can express themselves and feel connected to significant people and communities. What will be new? A completely re-engineered Messenger will be rolled ou...t later in 2019. It will become faster and lighter with a new architecture. The new Messenger will allow users to discover and watch videos from Facebook with friends or family in real time while messaging or on a video chat. A desktop app for Messenger will appear to seamlessly message from any device. Adding lead generation templates to Ads Manager in Messenger should help businesses to connect with customers easily. Businesses can create an ad that drives users to a simple Q&A in Messenger to learn more about potential clients. Also, people can book an appointment with businesses by Messenger conversation. WhatsApp will provide users with a business catalog right within the app when chatting with business to view products and services. Facebook will roll out Your Secret Crush (a dating service) and Meet New Friends services. Both of them are opt-in, so users will only be able to see those people who are open for meeting, and vice versa. Facebook users will be able to ship Marketplace items anywhere in the continental US and pay for their purchases directly on Facebook. A new Events tab will show what is happening around users, make recommendations, discover local businesses, etc. According to an announcement, in May Instagram began testing the ability to buy things from creators and raise money for nonprofit organisations directly in Instagram.
